Tobias HARTMAN- Will
In the Name of God Amen, I Tobias Hartman of Shrewsbury township
in the County of York in the State of Pennsylvania Yoeman; being
in perfect health of body, and of sound memory and understanding,
Blessed be God for the same, but Considering the uncertainty of
this transitory life, do make and Publish this my last will and
Testament, in manner and form following, to wit, Principally,
and first of all, I Command my Immortal Soul into the hands of
God who gave it, and my Body to the Earth, to be Buried in a decent
and Christian like manner, at the Discretion of my Executors,
herein after Named, and as to such Worldly Estate, wherewith it
hath pleased God to Bless me in this life, I give and dispose
of the same in the following manner, to wit, It is my will, and
I order and direct that all my Just debt and funeral Expenses
Shall be first paid and Satisfied by my Executors. Item I give
devise and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Maria Elizabeth
all my household and kitchen furniture of what kind or nature
so Ever, the same may be for and during the Natural life of my
said wife, or as long as She Remains my widow, And if it should
so happen that my said wife should get married again, I order
and Direct that all and Every Kind of my Household and Kitchen
furniture aforesaid Shall be sold by my Executors (Excepting and
Reserving unto My said wife, her Bed Bedstead and Bedclothes there
unto belonging, And one Table, 2 chairs, one Iron pot, and Fifty
Pounds Good and Lawful money of Pennsylvania, to hold to her and
her heirs and assigns forever,) It is further my will and I order
and Direct that my Son Frederik Hartman Deliver or Cause to be
Delivered unto Maria Elizabeth My said wife for and during her
Natural life all and Every the articles to be delivered to me,
and in and by a Bond of Performance Bearing the date the Ninth
Day of June A.D.1809 Particularly mentioned to be delivered, and
the privileges which are in the said Bond Reserved, Item it is
further my will and I order and Direct that after the death of
my said wife or Intermarriage, all my Household and Kitchen furniture
(Except as before Excepted) Shall be sold at public __ as soon
as Conveniently may be and the Monies therefrom arising and all
other monies Not heretofore bequeathed Shall be Equally divided
Divided to and amongst my Children herein after named Share and
share alike, Charging Each and Every one of them that are indebted
to me by bonds, Notes, or Book, Accounts Due Regard Shall be had
to make the all Equal, Namely John Hartman, Ludwick Hartman,
Tobias Hartman, Frederick Hartman, Maria Philibina Intermarried
to Jacob Diphble, and Maria intermarried to George Boyer, and
to Each and Every of them and their heirs forever, And unto my
daughter Ellizabeth I order the Interest of her share to be paid
yearly and Every year During her Natural life, And after the Death
of my said Daughter Elizabeth I order and Direct that my Executors
shall pay her share unto her Children as they shall arrive to
their Lawful ages. So that the Husband of the said Elizabeth shall
not Receive any part of benefit from the said Elizabeths Share
or part, AND LASTLY, I Nominate, Constitute and appoint my Said
two sons, John Hartman and Frederick Hartman, to be the Executors
of this my will hereby Revoking all other wills, Legacies and
bequests, by me Heretofore made, and Declaring this, and no other;
to be my last will and Testament, IN WITNESS Whereof I the said
Tobias Hartman have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the first Day
of December, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred
and Ten

of Will and granting Sellers of Admin in and for the County of
York the Stae of Pennsylvania Personally came Andrew Newman &
Ignatius Leitner
Two of the inscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of
Writing, and on their Solemn Oaths do severally say that they
were personally present and saw and heard the above named Tobias
Hartman sign his name unto and real and publish the foregoing
Instrument of writing as and for his Last will and Testament and
that at the time of the doing ___ he the said Tobias Hartman was
of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the
best of their knowledge and (line unreadable) subscribed their
names thereto as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator

CODICIL
Whereas I Tobias Hardman of Shrewsbury township York County and
State of Pennsylvania have and Duly Executed my Last Will and
Testament writing bearing Date the first Day of December one Thousand
Eight Hundred and Ten ___ Same Last Will and Testament and Every
Clause bequest and Devise therein Contained I do hereby Ratify
and Confirm Saving and Excepting Such Clauses bequest and Devises
therein mentioned as one by me herein after Revoked and Mark Void
and being desirous to alter Some parts thereof and of making Additions
thereto Do therefor hereby make this my Codicil which I Will and
direct Shall be taken and held as part of my Said Will and Testament
in manner and form following that is to Say First I give devise
that my Son Frederick Hartman is Cut the fire wood for my Said
widow at the doorfit for her use in the kitchen and Stove and
foder I give Devise that my Widow Shall have in the Place of fifty
pound one Hundred and fifty pound which She Shall have the Interest
of Same Sum of mony yearly During her Natural Life and I give
Devise that my Executors Shall be entitled to give to my daughter
Elizabeth of the principle as much as they think Need for her
service and Lastly I appoint my Son Tobias Hardman in place of
my Son John Hardman Deceased and Frederick Hardman aforesaid.
In Testimony Whereof I have hereto Set my hand and Seal the Six
day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred

of Wills _ in and for that County of York in the State of Pennsylvania
Personally came Jacob Flours and of _____ Witness to this fore
going Instrument of Writing and on his solemn oath doth say that
he was Personally present and saw and heard the ___ named Tobias
Hartman sign his name unto and seal and publish the for going
Instrument of writing as and for codicil to his Last Will and
Testament, and that at that time of __ doing Whereof he the said
Tobias Hartman was of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
to the best of his knowledge and belief and that he ___ his name
thereto as a Witness in the presence and at the request of the
said Testator and for when that he also saw Daniel Lentz the other
