THIS INDENTURE made the Ninth Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety BETWEEN Henry Engel of Shrewsberry Township in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania yeoman of the one part And Tobias Hartman of the same place of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Henry Engel for and in Consideration of the sum of Five shillings Lawful money of Pennsylvania to the said Henry Engel in hand paid by the said Tobias Hartman, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he the said Henry Engel doth hereby acknowledge and thereof, and of every part thereof, doth acquit release and forever discharge the said Tobias Hartman his heirs Executors and Administrators, and every of them by these presents, he the said Henry Engel HATH granted, bargained, sold, aliened enfrffed, released and confirmed, and by these presents DOTH grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, and confirm unto the said Tobias Hartman and to his Heirs and Assigns, all that certain tract piece or parcels of Land, situate, lying and being in said Shrewsberry Township, in the County of York aforesaid BEGINNING at a Black Oak, running thence by Land of Jacob Swartz South sixty five degrees West, thirty perches to a Black Oak. South eighty five degrees & a half West, thirty three perches to Stones, thence by Land of Abraham Swartz, North sixty six degrees and a half West one hundred and two perches to Stones, thence by Land of the said Tobias Hartman South seventy eight degrees East; eighty one perches to a Chesnut; North seventy two degrees and a half East, twenty six perches to a Chesnut; then by Barrens South seventy four degrees East forty nine perches to a Black Oak North fifty one degrees East twenty one perches to a post, then by Lands of the said Tobias Hartman, South eight degrees West thirty four perches to a Hickory Stump, thence by Land of the said Jacob Swartz, a straight line to the place of BEGINNING Containing four teen Acres, and ninety eight perches, and allowance (being the same which was Surveyed in pursuance of a Warrant for the said Henry Engel bearing date the (blank) Day of January AD 1790) TOGETHER with all and singular the Houses, Out houses, Buildings, Barns, Stables, Gardens, Orchards, Meadows, Ways, Woods, Waters, Watercourses, rights, Liberties, Privileges, Lights, Easements, Improvements, Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said described Tract of Land belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents Issues and profits thereof, also all the Estate, right, title, Interest, use possession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Henry Engel or his Heirs in Law or Equity, or otherwise howsoever, of into or out of the said described tract of fourteen Acres and ninety eight perches & allowance or any part thereof, together also with true Copies of all Deeds, Evidences and Writing, touching and concerning the hereby granted premises, or any part or parcel thereof, to be had and taken at the Costs and charges of the said Tobias Hartman his Heirs or Afsigns TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract of Land, containing fourteen Acres and ninety eight perches and allowances as the same is above described, and premises hereby granted, mentioned or intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the aforesaid Tobias Hartman his Heirs and Assigns, to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said Tobias Hartman his Heirs and Afsigns forever, Subject to the payment of the residue of the purchase money & Interest due and to become due on the same, to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, AND the said Henry Engel for himself and his Heirs doth convenant promise and grant to and with the said Tobias Hartman his Heirs and Assigns, by these presents, that he the said Henry Engel and his Heirs the said described Tract of Land and premises, hereby, bargained and sold, with the appurtenances, unto the said Tobias Hartman his Heirs and Assigns, against him the said Henry Engel and his Heirs and against all and every other person and persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, by from or under him or them or any or either of them, shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents, IN WITNESS whereof, the said parties, to these presents, have hereunto interchangeably Set their Hands and Seals, Dated the Day and year first above written.

YORK COUNTY __ Be it remembered that on the Ninth Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety. BEFORE me the Subscriber, one of the Justices of the Court of Common Pleas for said County. Personally came the above named Henry Engel and Acknowledged the above Indenture to be his Act and Deed, and desired the same might be recorded according to Law, witnefs my Hand and Seal.
