NAYLOR, PLAYFORD A.
Funeral services for the late Playford Alonzo NAYLOR, native and
former resident of Oakland, son of former Senator and Mrs. A.D.
NAYLOR, was held Sunday afternoon in St. Paul's Methodist Church,
conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.S. Patterson. Following service
in the church the burial was in charge of the Masonic Order. Mr.
Naylor was in his 41st year at the time of his death, Thursday
last at his home in Sebring, Florida, following an operation for
appendicitis which later developed into peritonitis. The body
was brought here Saturday following services in Sebring, where
he was an active member and official in the First Methodist Church
and prominent in civic affairs of that city. Mr. NAYLOR was born
in Oakland and attended local schools until his graduation here
in 1915. He then attended the Ohio Wesleyan University from which
he graduated and followed at the University of Virginia Law School.
He returned to Oakland and practiced his profession with Attorney
Asa T. MATTHEWS until 1925 when he went to Sebring. After a brief
period in that city he became one of its leading citizens, serving
as City Attorney, President of both the Lions Club and the Sebring
Volunteer Fire Department in addition to his other duties and
connections. "As might be expected Mr. NAYLOR put up a brave
fight that he might live for those whom he loved and who loved
him. He underwent two operations and was given two blood transfusions
by a willing friend." He is survived by his widow, one daughter,
his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

NAZELROD
Carrie Ellen, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John NAZELROD, died
at her home, Nov. 29, of pneumonia. Funeral services were held
from the Paradise Church. Friday morning, with Rev. Carroll SKIPPER
officiating. Burial was in church cemetery.

NEDROW, ELIZABETH ANN
Elizabeth Ann NEDROW, wife of Dr. W.C. NEDROW, died at four thirty
five a.m., Oct. 1, 1938, at her late residence in Friendsville,
Md. She was born in Bloomfield, Ky., June 4, 1878, being at the
time of her death sixty years, three months and twenty seven days
old. She was united in the bonds of Holy happy wedlock to Dr.
W.C. Nedrow, Nov. 20, 1909, and to this union was born three daughters,
all having died in early infancy. Her father, mother and two brothers
precede her to the grave, she being the last of the Pottenger
family. She was a loyal member of the Presbyterian Church until
after they moved to Friendsville. During the ministry of Rev.
P.W. Arbogast, she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church,
of which she was a faithful and devoted member until the end came.
Shortly after she united with the church she was appointed teacher
of the Ladies Bible Class, which position she held for eleven
years, having been compelled to give up these duties on account
of her illness. Servant of God well done, Thy glorious warfare
past. The battle is fought, the victory is won, And thou art crowned
at last. She leaves her husband, a host of relatives and friends
to mourn her loss. Bt

Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Richard Herbert NETHKIN,
65, who died in Oakland Wednesday night.
Mr. NETHKIN was a son of the late Meshach Alfred and Sarah Ann
NETHKIN.
Surviving are three sisters and four brothers. William Francis
NETHKIN, Buckhannon, W. Va.; Abel Steven NETHKIN, Keyser, W. Va.;
James Lloyd NETHKIN, Mrs. Mary Florence GILLESPIE, Upshur County,
W. Va.; Meshach A. NETHKIN, Columbus, Ga.; Mrs. Jennie V. HAWKINS,
Buckhannon; and Mrs. Cecelia Ann HAWKINS of California.
Services were from Paradise Church near Sand Flat. Rev. J. C.
FOSTER, United Brethren pastor, Mt. Lake Park officiated. Interment
was in Paradise Cemetery.

NETHKIN, THOMAS ALLEN
Funeral services were held Monday for Thomas Allen NETHKIN, 92,
one of the few Civil War veterans in Garrett County, who died
Saturday at his home here following an extended illness. The services
were in charge of Rev. David C. Trimble of St. Matthew's Episcopal
Church, Rev. Chas. A. Shilke of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and
Rev. P.P Snyder. Interment was in Oakland cemetery in charge of
the local Post American Legion. He was buried with full military
honors. He is survived by his widow, Mary M. NETHKIN, and the
following children: Nelson A. and Norman G. NETHKIN, Oakland;
Mrs. Otho B. MEANS, Morgantown; Mrs. Fanny CROSTEN, Austen; Mrs.
Nellie E. SCHAFFER, Mrs. Hattie L. MILLER, Crellin; thirty two
grandchildren, fifty eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

NEWMAN, CHARLES J.
Charles J. NEWMAN died at 1:30 this morning at his home near Oakland,
age about 64. For many years he was connected with the local post
office and because of ill health he was forced to resign his position
about a year ago. Since that time he has been growing worse until
the end. He is survived by his widow and the following children:
Gus Elmer NEWMAN, Mrs. Sammie WALWORTH, Winifred NEWMAN, of Charleston,
W.Va., Mrs. Permelia HAWKS, of Detroit, Marian W. and Harry L.,
of McKees Rocks; Mrs. Minnie SISK, of Loch Lynn; Walter C. and
Ruth Elizabeth, at home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday
at 2 o'clock at the home. Interment will be in the Oakland cemetery.

NINE, ARLIE JUNIOR
Arlie Junior NINE, infant of Mr. and Mrs. Arlie M. NINE, died
at the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, last Saturday. Surviving
are the parents and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday
at the home with Rev. A. Baily in charge. Burial in the Deer Park
Cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Mabel
ENLOW NINE, wife of William T. NINE, Deer Park, who died at her
home near Deer Park, Friday morning, May 5th, rather suddenly.
Services were conducted from the Methodist church in Deer Park,
of which she was a member, with the Rev. J. F. HOCKENBERRY officiating
assisted by the Rev. J. E. JOHNSON. Interment was in the Deer
Park cemetery.
She was a daughter of the late David T. and Lavina ENLOW and was
born in the county December 14, 1870. She was aged 68 years.
Surviving are her husband and three sons, Ray T. NINE, Point Marion,
Pa.; Harland W. NINE, Akron, Ohio; and Arlie NINE, Deer Park;
also eight grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. John
SPEICHER, Terra Alta, W. Va.; Mrs. Samuel BOWMAN, Crellin; Mrs.
Clarence LASHORN, Deer Park, Md.; Mrs. Thane O. WHITE, Oakland
and J. G. ENLOW, of Cumberland.

Charles E. NINER, aged 78 years, 10 months and 6 days, died at
his home at Sand Flat, Sunday May 3.
Funeral services were conducted from St. Peter's Catholic Church,
Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock. Rev. Father RAUTH officiated.

Mrs. Lucy Pearl NORDECK, aged 50 years, 4 months, and 16 days,
died at her home in Oakland Monday, June 3rd, after less than
a week's illness. She suffered a paralytic stroke last Wednesday.
She was born January 17, 1885 in Burlington, W. VA., the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. HULL. Surviving are her husband, Roy NORDECK,
and five children, Geraldine, James, Eugene, George and Max. Funeral
services were held in the Lutheran Church, Wednesday afternoon
with interment in the Oakland Cemetery. Mb
