ROBERT CARROLL LAPP, 44, a driver and first responder with
the Northern Rescue Squad, died while running a call after an
auto accident. He had also served with the Grantsville Volunteer
Fire Company. Prior to the rescue service he had worked for Stanton
Industries furniture manufactures at Salisbury, PA and the Keyser's
Ridge Trading Post. He married Dolores HOLLIDAY LAPP 22 years
prior to his death and they had three children; Terri, 21, a nurse
at Sacred heart Hospital; Randy, 18, employed at a neighbor's
farm, and eight year old Sallie, a student at Grantsville Elementary
School. Cause of death is undetermined, but believe to be a heart
problem.

W. PLAYFORD LEE
William Playford LEE, 83, Accident, died Thursday in the Garrett
County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born in Oakland, he was a son of the late Ezra and Savannah (FIKE)
LEE. He was preceded in death by two sons, William P. LEE, Jr.,
in 1981, and Elmer E. LEE, in 1959. Mr. LEE was a member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marie F. (BROADWATER) LEE; two sons,
Herbert LEE, Dundalk; George LEE, Randallstown; two sisters, Mrs.
Mae WHITE, OAKLAND; Mrs. Anna GROER, Eckhart; 12 grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren. Services were conducted in St.
paul's Lutheran Church, Accident, with Rev. William Carlson officiating.

Mrs. W. P. Lee
ACCIDENT - Mrs. Marie F. Lee, 79, died Sunday at Garrett County
Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Feb. 24, 1907, in Garrett County, she was a daughter
of the late Frank and Lucinda (Ross) Broadwater. Her husband,
W. Playford Lee, died Sept. 15, 1983.
Surviving are two sons, Herbert C. Lee, Baltimore, and George
W. Lee, Randallstown; one sister, Mrs. Grace Long, Frostburg,
12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Route
219, Accident, Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted there Wednesday at 10 a.m. by Rev.
William Carlson. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Accident
S. ANNIE E. LICHTY, 88, who died at the home of Mrs. George
YOMMER were held from the house with Rev. S. D. Sliger, officiating.
Mrs. Lichty was the daughter of the late John and Catherine WEGMAN.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Interment was in the Grantsville cemetery.

NANCY LEOSHA LICHTY, died Oct. 31, just passed her 27th birthday,
August 15th. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
BUTLER and was born on Negro Mountain. She attended Negro Mountain
School. On February 10, 1929 she married Earl LITCHY.
Surviving; Her husband, her parents, three small children, Betty,
5 yrs.; James, 3 yrs.; and Shirley Ann, born last August 9; five
sisters, Mrs. J. E. WALLS, Mrs. Clarence RINGER, Grantsville,
Mrs. Jonas DURST, Springs, Mrs. James WARNICK, Akron, Ohio; Mrs.
Francis RENNECKER, Ellets, Ohio and two brothers, Melvin and Edward

ALBERT LIPSCOMB, aged 25, of Lewistown, PA, died there
from shock received in an automobile accident. He was struck by
a hit and run driver on Mar. 3.
The remains were brought to Oakland, with interment in the Rhodeheaver

SARA ETTA LIPSCOMB, 83, died unexpectedly at the home of
her son, George LIPSCOMB in Aurora.
Born October 30, 1868 at Tunnelton, WV, she was the daughter of
Alex and Jeremia (FUNK) BOLYARD. She was a member of the Lutheran
Church.
Surviving: Five sons, (only fours listed in obit) Homer D. LIPSCOMB,
Oakland; Robert P. LIPSCOMB, Morgantown; J. Roy LIPSCOMB, George
R. LIPSCOMB, of Eglon; two daughters, Mrs. Delia SIMS, Mrs. Daisy
SHILLINGBERG of Aurora; two brothers, Perry BOLYARD, Oakland;
Doliver BOLYARD of Coulee, Washington; 28 grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church with Rev. F.
I. Peters, former pastor of the Aurora Methodist Church assisted
by the Rev. Donald Gallion, pastor of the Red House Lutheran Church.
Interment was in Aurora Cemetery.

JOHN L. LISH, died at his home in Friendsville. He
was born April 6, 1865 and died September 18, 1938.
He married Mary E. Friend and is survived by the following children;
Bertha Lish ANDERSON, Akron, Ohio; Herbert LISH and Ronal LISH
at home. He is survived by one brother, Smith LISH of Loch Lynn,
Md., one sister, Lilly REED, of Confluence, Pa.; and by five grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Friendsville for 45
years.
Rev. J. F. Hockenberry, pastor of the M. E. Church in Friendsville
officiated at the service conducted at the Blooming Rose Church.

MRS. MILES LIVENGOOD
Mrs. Ruth V. LIVENGOOD, 67, of Route 2, Swanton, died Thursday,
June 28, at her home.
Born in Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and
Viola (STEPHEN) JENKINS.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and the North
Glade Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles J. LIVENGOOD,
in 1973,
Surviving are five sons, John R. LIVENGOOD, Walter L. LIVENGOOD,
and David L. LIVENGOOD, all of Swanton; Ralph W. LIVENGOOD, Deer
Park; and William R. LIVENGOOD, Mt. Lake Park; two daughters,
Mrs. Arlene TICHNELL, and Mrs. Wilma PRATT, Spencer, Indiana;
three brothers, Roy JENKINS, Frostburg; Ray JENKINS and Robert
JENKINS, both of Grantsville; two sisters, Mrs. Alcy HOUSEL, Cumberland;
and Mrs. Lula SMITH, Winchester, Va.; 16 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
The body was taken to the Newman Funeral Home in Grantsville.
Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity United
church of Christ by the Revs. Ernest Rumbaugh and Donald Matthews.
Interment was in the Trinity United Church of Christ cemetery.

ORPHA ORENDORFF LIVENGOOD, died January 15, at her home on the
"Clyde Ash" farm, about two miles North of Grantsville.
She was born October 23, 1892 and was 45 years, 2 months, and
23 days of age. She was a daughter of Christian C. and Anna ORENDORFF,
of Grantsville. On October 27, 1933 she married Wilbert E. LIVENGOOD.
She was affiliated with the Glades Mennonite Church at an early
age. For several years prior to her marriage she lived in Canton,
Ohio.
Surviving: Her husband, her parents, and seven sisters. Her brother,
Clarence ORENDORFF, passed away on November 18, 1937.
Funeral services were held January 17, at the Springs Mennonite
Church, Rev. William G. Detwelder, of Canton, Ohio, and Rev. Roy
Otto, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the Glades
Cemetery at Bittinger, with William WINTERBERG, local undertaker,
in charge of arrangements.

REGINALD F. LIVENGOOD, 31, of Keyser's Ridge, Garrett County.
Died at the Franz hospital, Confluence, Pa., cause was pneumonia.
He was born in Meyersdale, Pa., the son of Mrs. and the late Clarence
E. LIVENGOOD.
Survived by: his wife and one son, about two years of age, living
at Keyser's Ridge. Also, his mother, one sister, and one brother
living in Geistown, Pa., survive him.
Services were held at the Addison Methodist Church. Interment
was in the Addison cemetery.

LAWSON L. LOAR, 81, former summer resident of Mt. Lake
Park, died at this home in Clarksburg, WV, following an extended
illness. Services were held at his residence and burial was in
Grafton, WV.
He was the son of David H. and Mary WHEELER LOHR, natives of Oakland.
He was one of West Virginia's leading businessmen, connected with
various mercantile and banking enterprises. He was a member of
the Methodist denomination for many years and at one time was
the superintendent of the Andrews Methodist Episcopal Sunday School
at Grafton.
Survived by: His widow, three brothers, George W., Harry and Judson,
and two sisters, Miss Lottie M. and Miss Grace LOHR, all of Oakland.

LOTTIE M. LOAR, died at her home after an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David H. LOAR. For
many years she took an active interest in civic affairs and for
a number of years served as president of the Oakland Civic Club.
Survived by: Three brothers, George W., Harry and Judson, and
a sister, Miss Grace LOHR, all of Oakland.
Services were held from her home, with Rev. Minor Sprague, pastor
of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in the family
lot in the Oakland cemetery.

ROBERT F. LOAR, 72, died June 14, 1996, at Sacred Heart
Hospital, Cumberland. Born September 14, 1923, in Midland, he
was a son of the late Robert F. and Lucy (HAMMOND) LOAR.
He was a life member of the Alvin C. Neat Post 5280 V.F.W., Lonaconing;
a former member of the disbanded Midland American Legion; and
a former member of the Roland Terrace Democratic Club, Brooklyn
Park. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Robert F. LOAR Jr., Finzel, John W.
LOAR, Cumberland, and Richard A. LOAR, Pennsylvania; three daughters,
Mary Jane BAUBLITZ, Frostburg, Debra E. LOWERY, Oriental, NC and
Erma J. PUGH, Channelview, Texas; four brothers, James B. LOAR
and John LOAR, both of Glen Burnie, Don LOAR, Pasadena, and Gene
LOAR, Baltimore; four sisters, Iona FOOR, Rockville, Norma BURKE,
Baltimore, Madeline KALANVICH, Indiana, PA, and Elaine MIRES,
Clymer, PA; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg,
with the Rev. William G. Boyer officiating. Interment was in Frostburg

LONG, Clarence L.
Frostburg - Clarence L. LONG, 82, of 41 West College Avenue, died
today in Miners Hospital where he had been a patient since August
28.
A native of Somerset, he was the son of the late Henry and Isabelle
(BOUCHER) LONG. He had owned and operated Long's Clothing Store
here for over 60 years. He is survived by his widow, Grace (JENKINS)
LONG; three step-sons, Paul JENKINS, Wayne JENKINS, and Odell
JENKINS, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Darius MILLER, and Mrs.
Francis COSGROVE.
Rev. George Wehler, pastor of Salem United Chuch of Christ, officiated
at the service and interment was in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers
were Ralph Race, Frank Scarpelli, Reford Aldridge, Alfred Fritz,
Charles Wilhelm, and William Pressman.
GRACE P. JENKINS LONG, 92, Frostburg, and more currently a
resident of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, died June 28,
1996, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 7, 1903, at New Germany, she was the daughter of the
late Lloyd Franklin and Lucinda (ROSS) BROADWATER. Two husbands,
Gorman JENKINS and Clarence LONG, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Paul JENKINS and Wayne JENKINS,
both of Frostburg, and O. Dell JENKINS, Cumberland, two daughters,
Phyllis MILLER, Avilton, and Mary Martha COSGROVE, Frostburg,
14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg,
with the Rev. Lawrence A. Neumark officiating. Interment was in

HAROLD LONG, 6 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
A. LONG, McHenry, died at the home of his grandfather, John LONG,
last Thursday. Services were conducted by the Rev. Fraker with
interment in the Skyles cemetery.

HERMAN R. LONG, 81, Morgantown, WV, died Oct. 18, 1994,
at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born June 25, 1913,
in Morgantown, a son of the late Russell L. and Pauline (LIBERT)
LONG. He attended Spruce Street United Methodist Church, where
he was a member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Men. He
was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was formerly employed
by Pickett's Dry Cleaners. In 1932 he graduated from Morgantown
High School and in 1941 graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and served in Panama.
He was a life member of Gen. Daniel Morgan VFW Post 548, and a
member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees,
Chapter 1614.
Survivors include his wife, Anna (HARMAN) LONG; one brother, Richard
LONG, Vero Beach, FL.
Services were held at the Dering's Funeral Home, Morgantown, with
Dr. Roger L. Smith officiating. Interment was in Lawnwood Cemetery.
CATHERINE WEIBLE LORADITCH, died at the home of her son near Meyersdale,
PA, age 93. She was born near Carrolltown, Cambria County, PA,
where she resided until her marriage and then moved to Johnstown,
PA and later to Pocahontas, PA, where she resided the greater
part of her life. She is survived by H. A. LORADITCH, Oakland;
William H. LORADITCH, Hinton, Iowa: E. J. LORADITCH, Pocahontas,
PA: Mrs. Annie M. BAER, Mt. Savage, MD. She also leaves 21 grandchildren;
66 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the St. Mary's Church, Pocahontas,
PA with interment in the cemetery nearby.
